Huh? The dual-mode and tri-mode chipsets are expected to be the highest volume segments of the 2.5G and 3G market. The added 3G features will make the early 3G phones expensive especially since the business case for mass market wireless data is embryonic.

What's the point of going to WCDMA if they are only going to address the WCDMA-chipset market?

I'm just pointing out that poster's wrong conclusion that WCDMA means TDMA, which is fundermentaly WRONG.
