Reminds me of the older Seinfeld episodes, where Jerry used a corded phone. In later episodes, Jerry has a cordless phone. I am sure the same scenario was repeated in millions of households in the early 1980s.

I recently shopped for some high end cordless phones. They are in the $100 ball park. However, my cell phone still has more features in a small handset than a corded phone. My feeling, supported by some remarks by Irwin Jacobs, is that cell phones will soon invade the in-home market by morphing into cordless phones (responding to the fixed line calls). Add bluetooth, and it seems even more likely.
