paul - Capellas worked directly for Lane when he was running the gas services business. I agree that their personalities are different but that is true in spades for Lane and Ellison, and that paid out pretty well for ORCL investors.

I never took the rumor about Lane running T seriously - being a Booze Allen partner hardly would have qualified him for that slot. After his stint at ORCL, he is probably qualified now. But it is his operational skills which are needed at CPQ. He does not hold a candle to Capellas as a CEO candidate IMO.
