But Michael, columnists aren't required to be balanced-- they are not reporting news; they are engaging in persuasive argument and debate. So comparing a political column and newsmax is apples and oranges: the difference is that one understands columnists will be biased, but expects news to present all the facts. When it's reported with giant omissions, with a slant that is as obvious as Newsmax's, it's more reprehensible. <p>
But as I wrote earlier to Karen, I actually am enjoying adding it to the mix. I just know I'm not getting the whole story from them.
With columnists, we already know this before we start.
