Are you saying that while CNN etc. might be guilty of bias the fact that NewMax is more obvious makes it more acceptable? Even more admirable? I say shame on them all.
Why doesn't NewsMax produce a biasfree paper and REALLY have something to be proud of?
Anyway--

You are ignoring the strong likelihood that Juan didn't WANT to have a reunion with the people who tried to take his son from him. Don't his wishes ultimately take priority?
Why would our government- which had already given its legal opinion that Juan has jurisdiction over his son- have tried to broker a reunion at all?? For what purpose?

To say that it's in Elian's best interest- which is merely our subjective call on it- is no different from making ANY decision about Elian's welfare- it is up to his father. WHihc was the point of the whole stupid exercise.

It wasn't the govt's place to worry about the relatives. It was Juan's.
And we have no way of knowing what Juan wanted.
SO we have a dead horse.
