Karen, res- For example, you can wish Elian would stay but still put a higher value on following the law.

Interesting why you chose that set of values. The law, (when compared with politics) had little to do with the way in which the Elian case was decided. A great sociologist Emile Dirkim once said..

"Where mores are sufficiant, laws are unnecessary, where mores are insuficiant, laws are unenforceable".

This administrations lack of ethical and moral values circumvented the spirit as well as intent of our laws. Especially the law as it relates to fourth amendment rights. The laws were just vague enough to be used as a weapon by those in power as they saw fit. The Congress not stating a specific age in which a child may apply for asylum, was the one convenient "vagueness" used this time.

In another issues regarding perjury, it was the meaning of the word "is". Laws only work when people of virtue are placed in positions of power to ensure they work. When a person or group of people have no virtue, the "law" can be used (especially in short term events) in all kinds of heineous ways.

You recently said, "I despise this administration". (or words to that effect). No Karen, I don't despise these people. I simply recognize a liar and coward for what he is. And I further recognize when a person of such character is elected to the highest office in our great country, he is out of alignment with the values and principles upon which the nation was founded. I truly believe not one word spoken in public by Clinton is spoken from a core center of honesty. And I am amazed by the gullibiltiy of so many people, that they could be so snickered into believing one thing they've said in regard to Elian's case.

The government kept this boy and his father under lock and key for the better part of three months. Surrounded by Castro's agents and a doctor who smuggled in drugs no reputable doctor would proscribe to a 7 year old in the United States. No independendent press reporters, no films of life in the various compounds. Scant pictures and virtually nothing else. And so many people here on this board suck up everything the government has said hook-line-and-sinker! Amazing indeed....

WHAT WILL GOD DO NOW?
FAREWELL MY LITTLE FRIEND

By: John Reynolds

I was not surprised to learn that the Supreme Court refused to even consider the last and final attempts by the family of Elian Gonzalez to prevent his being returned to his former island prison that his mother died to deliver him from last year.

To borrow a phrase, the only phrase which applies here: THE FIX WAS IN.

There will be hundreds and thousands of articles, columns, editorials, letters to the editor, all espousing one view or the other about the small child who once said he did not want to go back to Cuba, who once said to his own father that he wanted to stay in America. There will be many who will parrot the hypocritical spewings from Der Clinton,

who ordered that Elian be seized by executive fiat', Obergruppenfuehrer Reno, who justified as always her contempt for the United States Constitution, her deviousness in going judge-shopping for warrants that weren't even worth the paper they were typed up on, Major Meissner, who semi-successfully posed as just another career civil servant running the INS and "trying to uphold the law". Nazis, all of them. Lacking only the swastika.
And let's not forget Al "I invented that!" Gore, who shamelessly pandered to whatever the opinion of the day was about Elian Gonzalez, all in the interest of trying to nudge the State of Florida into his own electoral vote total come November.

A special mention goes to the law practice of Kendall Coffey and Greg Craig, who were most certainly working together if not in actual deed and agreement, then certainly by the results of the tainted judicial process which has now betrayed and sold out an innocent little boy. Coffey made a grandstand event of inviting Larry Klayman of Judicial Watch to assist Elian's legal defense at the last minute, and Klayman - being the honest man and patriot that he is, agreed to do what he could. But Coffey and his woeful, half-hearted efforts are fully to blame if there is to be any finger pointing.

Larry Klayman is not unlike a world-class brain surgeon who is called into emergency surgery after some ignorant and inexperienced cretin of an intern has used a chainsaw to open up the patient's skull. Not a whole lot of life-saving measures can be taken at that late stage of the game, but the intern (Coffey) hopes that by calling for help, it will somehow save him from being properly labeled as being incredibly stupid, or maliciously incompetent. One need only review the many columns written by Attorney Jack Thompson in Miami concerning the blatant conflict of interest that Kendall Coffey had in representing Elian Gonzalez and his family to understand that Coffey was in fact the ultimate trojan horse, and the decisions which have been handed down by the courts all testify to the fact that Elian never received the proper legal representation he was entitled to, and that little boy will spend most, if not all of his life back in the clutches of one of the last Stalinist regimes, condemned by our own State Department and the United Nations for the horrible human rights record that has been compiled by the brothers Fidel and Raul Castro.

If Ronald Reagan had been in office when Elian Gonzalez was rescued at sea, that little boy would already be an American citizen, attending elementary school like millions of children do every day in our Country, and our State Department would have made it clear to Castro that Elian no longer was "property of the state", but would have gladly facilitated visits by Elian's father to the United States at any time, assuming that Fidel Castro would open up his prison walls long enough.

But unfortunately, America elected our first Communist President in 1992 my friends. Bill Clinton is no friend of freedom, and all one needs to do is to review the record of what Clinton has done since the day he took office, and how his actions have worked directly in opposition to what is in the best interest of America, to our national security, to our Constitutional freedoms, and you can come to only one conclusion: the man is a traitor, greater than Benedict Arnold, indeed even General Arnold begins to look benign in comparison to the lasting damage that Clinton has wreaked upon our Nation.

But this was not intended to be an article on the Slimeball-In-Chief, although it is ironic, that just as Clinton manages to poke his arrogant nose into anything that might get him some attention, it is nearly impossible to de-tangle him from the closing pages of the Tragedy of Elian Gonzalez. I began this article with the title, "What Will God Do Now?", and I firmly believe that every single solitary individual who played a role, no matter how minor in the betrayal of Elian Gonzalez will be judged by God, and I would not be surprised if many of those foul bastards don't have to wait too long. I know without any doubt, that there are millions of people who are praying every day, indeed every hour on the hour, for God to pass judgement on the criminals who have taken over our government, to smite and lay low that venomous fiend who smirks "I feel your pain" while causing more pain to America and our people than at any other time in our history.

Bill Clinton has been seen going to church more than a few times with a Bible under his arm, and I'm sure that the hypocritical Pharisees that John the Baptist called "vipers and sons of vipers" would welcome Bill Clinton as one of their own. What Bill Clinton needs to read are the following passages from the Book of Matthew, timeless and wise words spoken by Jesus Christ Himself:

"But who so shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea. Woe unto the world because of offenses! for it must needs be that offenses come; but woe to that man by whom the offense cometh!" (Matthew 18:6-7)

"Take heed that ye despise not one of these little ones; for I say unto you, that in heaven their angels do always behold the face of my Father which is in Heaven." (Matthew 18:10)

Judgement will surely come, as surely as the sun will rise tomorrow, it will come. And I would not want to be in the shoes of Bill Clinton, Janet Reno, Doris Meissner, Greg Craig or Kendall Coffey or any of the others deserving dishonorable mention, for all of the money, power and glory in the world. And to Bill Clinton? I have but one thing to say to him:

"God has a millstone with your name on it, fat boy. Hope you know how to swim."
