The earnings estimates I have seen recently have excluded capital gains of 2.3 BILLION dollars. I think that analysts and investors have become more sophisticated about the capital gains. A dollar of cg should not be awarded that same weight as a dollar of revenue, but it should not be completely ignored either, which everyone on this thread seems to believe.

Frank,

There is nothing wrong with making a profit from investing in stocks.....I do it all the time. <g> However there are two concerns when it comes to Intel and its venture capital fund:

1. Intel will grow dependent on these sales to make its quarter.

2. That it in the process of investing, it will lose sight of its core business and allow it to slip.

Now, these two concerns did not originate with this thread; they come from the analyst community and the street in general.

As an Intel shareholder you need to decide if either of the two concerns apply to the present Intel. If not, then why are you concerned about what is posted here?

If you do think there's a problem, then why are you criticizing us...you should be in touch with the company.
