Hi Dealie

I really have to talk to somebody about my last couple of days.

Got home from a horrendous flight two nights ago (was cranky, a real bitch), to find a box on my kitchen counter. Inside, a baby swallow. Right.
So, I hand feed it with a syringe - moistened, mushed up cat food (have I told this story before). Anyway, little swallow seemed to be doing fine. Woke up this morning, and it had died. That hurts.

Just came in from the garden, 10 minutes ago. Was cutting lillies to bring inside and happened upon a starling. Just standing there, staring into space. Picked it up; it clutched my fingers. I held it for ten minutes or so. It shuttered and died. This is not good. I don't know what happened.

Life, death. It just happens and we don't know anything. We think we do, but we don't.
