You are a dear sweet soul whose heart has been captured by a particular flash-in-the-pan. Your posts are designed to educate and illuminate, to dissect the virtues of the company and the vices of its stock price, for all who are interested. The gods of SI have, I believe, smiled upon this endeavor by bringing at least one of your missives to the world at large, via prominent display as a "Cool Post of the Day" on the SI homepage. No one begrudges you this, and in fact all must consider it a testament to the good taste and intelligence of the abovementioned deities.
BUT--they have not always displayed such good taste and intelligence. In fact, in addition to the regular dreck they showcase, they have gone so far as to elevate to this exalted position several of our G&K threadmates--posters who, I am sure you would be the first to agree, hardly deserved to share such a pedestal with such august personages as yourself. This sowed the seed of faction in the thread, and has given rise to an unseemly competition in which some of the more childish and immature members have taken to putting on airs and lording their honors over others, mere mortals such as myself.
At first I responded to this situation the way any sane man would. I ignored it entirely, as beneath contempt. But then, when the outrages continued and when the gods seemed to take particular care to smile down on those with the least possible merit and cast darkness over those with so much more to offer, I became angered, and have since begun a quest to return some semblance of justice to this, our little corner of the online world.
Some day, when the annals of this poor community are written, it will be recorded that one voice stood up for truth, one cry was heard for righteousness, one clarion call of protest was raised in defense of standards, virtue and integrity.
