Q's royalty rates for 3G>
There still seems to be confusion on this and other QCOM message boards regarding Q's royalties for the various flavors of 3G.
Let me try to clear things up. Q says it will receive the same rates for CDMA2000 and WCDMA. As most of you know, Q is now officialy split up into several business units. The royalties are collected by the QTL division. This division will collect royalties for all forms of CDMA at the same rate.
The QCT division supplies CDMA ASICs and software. The IS95/CDMA2000 sales from this division will have higher margins than WCDMA sales because Q will most likely pay licensing fees to other IP holders for WCDMA.

Therefore, if you were to think of Qualcomm as two major companies QTL and QCT, then the royalty future for 3G should be clear.
