WAP success in UK

Posted this on Ericsson chat page this morning from The Times, today I think:

p30 - Phone.com, the telecoms software company, said that Britons with WAP phones were on average calling up 40 pages of news and other information daily. The company said the information was gathered by monitoring the Internet traffic travelling over the infrastructure that it supplies to mobile phone operators.

My comment: This is not to say that many sites are badly written and that is true. These sites are the ones causing the most bad user experiences. Too many too quick...

...and don't forget where the Mail stands in the newspaper hierarchy in the UK...
