I think the religion thing is the least of Mexico's challenges right now. I remember clearly when Kennedy was elected. It was my freshman year in college. Classmates were all sure the papacy was going to take over the government. Needless to say, it didn't happen. Business as usual.

Fox has bigger challenges. The article mentioned the one I brought up last night.

"There are now big questions," said Friederich Katz, a Mexico historian at the University of Chicago. "Fox's party has neither the people nor the organization nor the parliamentary strength to rule alone. The question is: Who does he make a deal with? That's an open question."

At least Fox has been a state governor so he knows something about running a public administration.

Although that didn't do much for Clinton. He got in trouble right away with travelgate. A combination of the arrogance of victory and a lack of advisors who knew how things worked due to his party being out of the White House for so long.

I had a big, fat, red Mexican papaya for breakfast this morning in Fox's honor. Good luck to him. He'll need it.
