(OT)Calvin: I was just a young pup back in '67, the year of the "Impossible Dream" pennant winning Red Sox. The player you are referring to was Bucky Lackanooky who not only hit .300, but during his streak toward the battling title refused to change his underwear nor bathe for 47 consecutive days, lest he jinx his streak. Shunned by his fellow players who refused to come anywhere near him, he quit the team just before the playoffs and hooked up with a roller-derby team. (Lee)
