(((CDMA2000 losing battle in 3G))) There are alot of politics stirring the pot at present - especially in Korea. It is very easy to commit to a non-existant standard that will be built at some uncertain future - for strategic purposes. SK Telecom and LG Telecom are pissed at Samsung's dominance. They're also looking for movement on CDMA royalties. Does it seem rational or pragmatically possible to anyone on the board that Korea telcoms will rip out CDMA, pass on the easy, inexpensive 3G upgrade path, and absorb installation costs for an untested wCDMA standard? Also, the government will pull KT Freetel into the CDMA camp, and may only help in CDMA royalty negotiations (leaving the wCDMA camp to fend for themselves). Also, there are the Korean equipment manufacturers for the government to consider... Other opinions on the credibility of Korean telcoms' decisions to go wCDMA?? regards, blg
