<<<I was disturbed by the implications of Chris Land's posts.>>>
As well you should be. It don't tiptoe around complimenting people, I give them God's word. Let's go a little further and see what Galations has to say:
19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, 20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, 21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.
If you'll be truthfull with me then you would agree that we all fit into this category and none of us deserve to inherit the kingdom of God, Correct?
Nevertheless, those who receive Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior receive pardon for sin and are accepted into the fold of God, NOT BECAUSE OF THEIR OWN RIGHTEOUSNESS BUT BECAUSE THEY NOW ARE CLEANSED BY THE BLOOD OF JESUS WHO DIED IN OUR PLACE.
Those who die without Jesus die in their sins. It is the commission of Christians to tell people everywhere that God has made a plan for their redemption. How few accept it. So many want to condemn me because I tell them right to their face that they have to get right with God before it's too late. I'll bear the shame and reproach of having to deliver a hard message to an even harder world than to tell people everything will be all right in the end.
<<<In citing Ex.22:18 as justification for the horrendous torture and murder of thousands, and his focus on burning or hanging as the method of murder >>>
I never justified anyone's action for killing or torturing.
As to the inquisition it was not the churches doing. In fact the church was the victim! It was the Roman Catholic religion that performed all those attrocities, led by a satanic group known as the Jesuits.
