I agree with you completely. Further, I suspect that their R&D suffers gravely from the NIH (Not Invented Here...so it cannot be good) syndrome (Unless they can steal it an claim that it really was theirs to begin with.) Also, they appear to have a corporate culture (or sub-culture) that is repulsive to many of the best minds "out there" and many of these people are attracted to other opportunities which does explain, at least in part, how a company such as AMD on a relative shoe string of a R&D budget can attract the very excellent (or even genius level) minds that it has in order to catch up with and compellingly well overtake such a Goliath with "ALL THE MONEY IN THE WORLD."
