This thread including this post, has five posts for the last two days, yet it is number two on the Hot List as I type. What does that say about how SI determines what makes it on the Hot List. Number two on the Hot List has been on the list for days with very few posts as well. I think SI needs to put the word "current" into the equation. I think a four-hour window sample compared to the last seven-day average might work. And, the posting comparison should be given dominant weighting among the criteria used to determine what is hot or not. Page hits should not count. As a subject makes it to the Hot List folks are going to take a look. Let’s see how many people bookmark the subject or contribute a post. That makes a subject hot. Being on the SI Hot List does not, at least not lately! Regards, LG
