Once again I'm feeling the urge to launch into "The Stars and Stripes Forever." Are you sure you don't have a streak of preacher or politician in you? LOL

Well, you went and stirred up my "yeah, buts."

1. Check out this Y2K thread. I spent the latter part of 1999 with that particular bunch of ultra conservatives. Check it out if you dare. Subject 16203

2. Someplace yesterday or today I read a survey that had some 80% opting for prayer in schools, around 40% wanting to make speech that insults minority, religious, etc. groups illegal, and I don't recall what else.

3. I've been reading "Sleeping with Extra-Terrestrials: The Rise of Irrationalism and Perils of Piety." If you haven't seen it, it's about the amazing amoung of superstition there is, even in this day and age.

4.

This is too depressing. I'm going back to humming "Stars and Stripes Forever."

P.S. I found this in my vast library of clip files, FWIW.

Mr. Fabrizio, pollster for the RNC says there are five Republican Parties with competing ideologies and agendas: supply-siders, moralists, the America firsters, the Whitman-Weld-Wilson moderates and the old-fashioned conservatives.
