Marcos, the Y2K thread was a memorable experience. What a cast of characters! I'm sorry you didn't join in. It was absolutely fascinating and (unintentionally) funny. But there were some ominous threads running through it. There were people there who were looking forward to mass destruction as an opportunity to reinvent society and replace government with a theocracy. Some were expecting the Rapture. A lot of people were so distrustful of government they thought Y2K was a government conspiracy to abrogate the bill or rights. You can't experience something like that without developing some fears about the far right. Karen
