Dan, >As long as you focus on 16 way and 32 way multiprocessor servers, and ignore everything else, things look fabulous for Intel.

I can disagree with you all day. Right now, there is a large premium placed on brand recognition and a company's strength in cash and other liquid assets. Intel's X86 server business alone might be bigger than all of AMD combined (one of the analysts put Intel's server chip business at 20 - 25% of total company. You can do the math). Here's what companies will think of when looking at any future AMD based server products: Would I trust my business critical applications to Jerry Sanders, or to Intel with their best of breed, in the high tech field, balance sheet? No comparación senor.
