Mang,
I'm as long "3Com" as anybody. I own a Handspring Visor Deluxe, a Palm IIIC, and a HWP 545 (with all of the accessories for all three: leather cases, extra stylus, Tiger Woods for the Visor, and the e-wallet program for the HWP.)
The HWP 545, IN MY OPINION, is simply the best - heads above the competition. I use the three models that I have, but the HWP is so much more useful. The Word file format, recording messages, the e-wallet for storing passwords, credit card #'s, etc. are so beneficial - TO ME (most people probably don't need these applications - but I DO). I realize the dominance, currently, of Palm - and that's why I own the stock. A person can't criticize the HWP 545 until they use it. It's incredible against the competition.
That's just my opinion. Palm isn't even close to the technology of the HWP 545. But Palm isn't intended for advanced software technology, it's intended for its simplistic approach. I just bought the HWP 545 (for almost the same price as the Palm IIIC) for all of the benefits it has within the device.
The HWP has a better screen (much better clarity), more applications built in, plenty of games and software (despite the continual harping of 70,000 developers for Palm (how many applications does one person really need?). The HWP is much better (cosmetic speaking) product than the Casio 115 - that it's ridiculous. The HWP is great, and I hope Palm is developing a product with a similar color screen.
My only negative comments about the HWP product are: 1) it weighs 9 oz vz the 4 oz for the Palm Vx, and 6.8 oz for the IIIC; and 2) Palm was the innovator, and I want Palm to win out (MSFT has had enough success, but currently their product is superior - IN MY OPINION.) |
