I have an Ericsson T38 and an Ericsson MC218 hand held PC(PSION REVO) It takes 3 minutes to log on and If I want to use SI in all its wonderful ways then I need to download some software from Ericsson. Downloading SI takes 22-3 minutes as does anything else I use. I have not tried the WAP phones from Ericsson or Nokia but by all accounts the WAP phones don't function well, too little service and too much hype. So much for GSM. Cost per minute is about 20 cents a minute.
I've gone back to wired connection and a laptop where my cost is 1,25 cents per minute.
