advalorem,

Here's another value play/growth play that has recently become available.

SYB (Sybron International) got clobbered on 6/27 for missing projections by about 4 cents a share. The stock has traded as high as 31 to 32 very recently (June 20). Last trade on July 3 was at 19.5, giving a P/E of roughly 12 to 14 depending on which P/E you want to look at.

This company has been growing earnings in excess of 20% per annum, and current projections for that type of sustained growth have not changed (yet).

My gut feel at this point is that someone has overreacted and the price is now a real bargain (for those willing to undertake some risk, and employ a buy-and-hold strategy for the foreseeable future).

Take a look and let me know what you think. The only flies in the ointment that I see are that long term debt is a wee bit higher than I'd prefer to see, and there is the always present risk of falling short of projections (again).

Other than that, this one looks like it may have some possibilities for a small, speculative investment.
