Infowave announces that Jim Mcintosh has stepped aside as President and CEO in a move designed to broaden Infowave's executive management team

BURNABY, BC, July 5 /CNW/ - Infowave Software, Inc. (TSE: IW - news) announced today that Jim McIntosh has stepped aside as President and CEO effective immediately. Mr. McIntosh has advised the board of directors that he made this move to enable the appointment of a CEO with the experience and profile to lead the transition of the company into both commercial markets and the U.S. public markets.
Mr. McIntosh remains on the Infowave board of directors. He will be heading up a number of special projects for Infowave in his capacity as a director. Bijan Sanii, Infowave COO, has been appointed acting President and CEO.

"Over the past twelve months, Infowave has been very successful in building the foundation to realize the market opportunities of the wireless data market culminating in our recent financing and agreement with Intel," said Mr. McIntosh. "I personally believe that the time is now right to turn Infowave over to a more experienced CEO with the necessary skill set to take the company to the next stage of its growth. I look forward to participating in the future success of Infowave as a director and a significant shareholder."
