Leap Wireless To Buy $900M In Lucent
Tech Equipment

Dow Jones Newswires

SAN DIEGO -- Leap Wireless International Inc.'s (LWIN) Cricket unit
will purchase about $900 million in Lucent Technologies Inc.'s (LU)
wireless infrastructure equipment and a full array of Lucent's Net Care
deployment services.

The new pact expands the deal covering $330 million in equipment and
services the two companies had unveiled Sept. 30.

In a press release Wednesday, Leap said the new pact also expands the
financing available to Cricket for these purchases and for additional related
network costs.

Lucent's 1999 revenue was $38.3 billion.
