email exchange with SMRA investor relations:

As you must have noticed the activity in your stock on 6/30/00 after 2 pm was quite anomalous. It also appears that the trades of as many as 400,000 shares were reported after 4 pm with about half of these reported long after 4 pm. While some of this may be due to SMRA joining the Russell 3000 this sort of activity is disturbing to this, and I presume, other stockholders.

Dear Philip Bolton,

There are many factors, which we may or may not be aware of, which may
affect the trading activity of a stock and over which we have no control.
Therefore, we have made it a policy against publicly commenting on unusual
stock activity unless it is directly related to information we have made
public. It is aways interesting to hear our investors comments, however, so
I thank you for thinking of us and look forward to hearing from you again.
Have a good holiday.

Kind regards,

Eileen Iguchi
