Re: "You don't expect them to sell AFTER the downgrade do you?"
Comment: No, but I just want to be certain that I'm not the only one thinking the unthinkable about the possibility of ulterior motives in an analyst's recommendations, particularly when recommendations run counter to virtually all current data and particularly when recommendations/conclusions that flow out of his analysis are opposite to those derived by almost anyone reading his analysis...I also wanted to be certain that I wasn't the only one wondering about the possibility of a non-arms length relationship with his employer and whether or not such a non-arms length relationship, if existing, could result in accrued financial benefits to a non-arms length employer...Bottom up or top down, this guys published analysis was very shallow and his negative conclusions wrt AMD, plain and simple, are oppisite those that 99.9% of the readers would derive from his AMD analysis...His analysis and fantasy conclusions should never have seen the light of day, imho, and his employer, SSB, needs to have its ears pinned back by the SEC for not being a little more vigilant over the accuracy of substance in its employee publications, imho! Billions were lost by investors today that can be tied directly to the issuance of this report issued under SSB's banner, but I suppose billions were also gained by investors today who were positioned properly prior to its release...Perhaps the SEC will put under the microcope just who won and who lost today and what, if any, their brokerage affiliations were... |
