Yeah, bob, saw the article earlier this afternoon. This journalist, and I use that term loosely, IMHO, is way out of line with this crap that Ray Lane was forced out.

The article provides the premise "Given the succinct nature of the press release (two paragraphs and 76 words), however, it was clear regardless of the circumstances, Oracle had not planned the departure in advance," for his much speculative conclusion.

And that's what the author is doing, just speculating, with no more insight than you or I or anyone on this board. Yet he has the Forbes.com shingle over his inkwell. What is online journalism coming to if Forbes permits a semi-moron to write such speculative comments on behalf of publishing company that I thought has some integrity?

Where are the facts to support such a far-fetched conclusion? Did someone interview Ray? If he was fired, then why does he remain on the board? What about the effort ORCL extended to Ray a year or so ago in order to persuade him to stay rather than seek the top job at HP or CPQ? Or was that all BS?

All I can say is that this author is a moron, not necessarily for his conclusion, but the lack of any real journalist integrity in providing any FACTS to support what IMHO, is pure conjecture.
