HI Michael,

I saw that article this morning, either posted somewhere else or in Newsmax. Thomas Sowell is very conservative, and I sometimes like him a lot. I happen to think he is wrong in his analysis of the family dynamics, and in his belief that we had the right to remove Elian from his father.

There is no use continuing to argue about this at all, though. WE will never agree. No one here has ever said they approve of Castro or his method of governing. We just felt differently about whether the government should terminate the rights of a parent. It does not make me or you less of a patriot, less of a person, or less of anything.

I still see the the RAID as a separate issue, having nothing to do with Elian's eventual domestic disposition.
