I think you're making a mistake putting qcom and rmbs in the same basket, RN. Rambus is a pure ipr play, while Qualcomm has ipr but also dominates the large and growing cdma chipset market. They derive most of their sales and a majority of their profits from this semiconductor endeavor. Qualcomm is one of the worst performers on the nasdaq this year, but that in no way negates their Gorilla status.
