BTW I think MSFT is way over valued. It is hard to make money competing with something is free. (linix) But in this case the consumer (at least) gets what they pay for. In one case an OS that they can use to run software which has a great deal more "common knowledge" in the public domain; in the other, an OS people have heard of but relatively few have mastered for the mainstream computing experience (email, word processing, web browsing, mp3s, etc.). OTOH, Linux must be awesome for professional application to web and data services tasks. Either OS (W2K or L) takes a knowledgeable sysop though. Randy
