Michael, the 'crock' epithet was directed at Boortz, not yourself, and was a thought quickly distilled due to haste, i had to leave the computer then ... but you seem to espouse his thoughts - ah, very well then -

"There is a balance between protecting the rights of American citizens caught in the grips of an emotional custody case, and protecting the rights of a father."

Um, Michael - The father is the father, period. If as you say there is a balance, then it is heavily weighted to one end, and rightfully so. Second point, you have somehow omitted the adjectives 'deluded' and 'propagandising' from between the words 'of' and 'American' ... an oversight i'm sure. Third point - those whackos were the 'emotional custody case' - if they had made no threat on the son of Juan Miguel in the first place there never would have been a dispute. Hoist on their own Bacardi, a mi ver.

There are all kinds of rights, Michael, and they are not all written down on paper, much less amended. The right of parents to speak for and to make decisions for their children is a natural, ancient, inalienable right that no legislature nor jurist nor piece of paper can take from them. You will not convince me otherwise.

México does have a constitution, fyi - cddhcu.gob.mx
... it's quite well written ... the Ley Ambiental is considered among the most advanced on the planet ... interpretation and enforcement have always been problematic though ... the same could be said of Canada and the US ... just a matter of degree.

On the 'raid' - I'll start trying to believe these people ranting about the Elián 'raid' are sincere when they start showing some concern for the cases in which the INS uses their legislated supreme martial powers to break up families ... because they do, you know.

Marysleysis broadly hinted a few days before that there were weapons in that house, and the bellicose statements out of that bunch were many and manic - hence the guns of the BP, the use of surprise and an appearance of determination. So it goes, i guess ... i'll start trying to believe your sincerity in opposing the use of force when i start seeing your concern for the nicaraguan kids that Reagan is to this day still blowing up.

"A law abiding American family (without warning" ... rofl ... i see others have enjoyed this bit as well ... Michael, what can i say ... if you're determined to hate Clinton and Reno, fill yer boots i say ... but remember to have fun ... Elián will, he's with his dad now ... cheers
