But the proposed increase is good news. I think the Saudi's remember what happened last time oil stayed @ $35 where many "fringe properties" (extraction costs higher and or quality of crude lower) came on line and price went into teens for a sustained period. Oil @ $25 keeps these properties off line. Once they are on line they stay on line until oil drops to a lower level than the $25. Probably back in the teens.

With OPEC now it will be political alignment with those against US being the most against an increase. It is not just the US feeling this pain.

Hey CT is no longer the state with the highest gas tax.
