Q has been developing the technology and has several patents on different parts of the various applications of it. But they don´t have universal patent on CDMA. Another thing that I see people getting often wrong is the idea of CDMA being "the system". That is not true. CDMA is merely the general method how the bits fly in the air. System itself is a massively complex thing that uses CDMA only at the radio transmitting/receiving end. - rajala
