Yes, obviously true, and very sad.

bryan really put his foot in his mouth last night when he had to weasel out of his most recent mistruth in reporting the number of times that SI showed user IDs.

Pretty bold of him to say he didn't even read someone's post TO HIM about user names showing. But i suppose that was his only out.
