CodeSmith,

That has been my observation too. When compared to other stocks, AMD seems to have a few extra elements associated with it - shorters by profession, shorters because of hate ( a small percentage of Intel investors which can be a significant absolute number) and Intel. Most of the good news you see is related to fundamentals of the company which most on this SI AMD thread understand, but mean nothing to the joe public unless the Analysts make it clear to them. This is where Intel plays a role by using its PR machine, paper launches, and spreading Fud, etc.

Only consistent earnings from AMD can get rid of these infestations gradually. I believe AMD will see far higher valuation in the early Q4'00(because of Q3'00 earnings which would erase the huge disparity between the trailing and forward PEs + 1 Year of positive earnings) than the current valuation.
