Apparently from what you posted, Corning is in this market too, but my guess is it's from the cable perspective only.
Corning is rapidly becoming a one stop shopping solution for carriers and service providers as well. OK, that may be a stretch, but they certainly are way more than a mere "strand & cable" vendor today. More correctly stated, I'd say that GLW has a very robust development of its component business going on this year. corning.com

Should GLW purchase SDLI, as has been rumored, it will create an extremely well diversified and integrated industry powerhouse. Sorta like what Teddy Roosevelt was fighting against in the old days of anti-trust. <g>
