Thanks John, very interesting. I didn't realize that paying the debt is treated as a loss.

AMD will realize a capital loss in Q2'2000 by paying for tendered bonds, hopefully most of them.

---I assume you mean Q3.

Do you think the SSB downgrade will benefit (make it more attractive to holders) this bond offer?
