<< Juan Miguel was free while on US soil to make a choice to live in the US or Canada or wherever. >> We disagree with this statement. A person is not free to make a choice, if there are threats against his family by a ruthless dictatorship, as in Cuba. You say that Juan was free to make a choice, even if it resulted in harm to his family back in Cuba. I don't consider that a free choice, and you do. You seem to think that, as long as you can't see a gun pointed at someone's head, that the threat doesn't exist. Now that Juan and Elian are both back in Cuba, Castro's corrupt politicians and thugs are in control of Elian, and Juan is getting a hero's award. Juan probably hopes that the award comes with a certificate, since there is a toilet paper shortage in Cuba, and, at least, it would give some value to the worthless award. Some revolution. Juan comes to the U.S. for an extended vacation and he gets a personal award from that stupid Castro for heroism. They should put Castro on permanent latrine duty, and spare Cuba from more of his lunacy. |
