I seriously doubt it would do anything.

From what I have been able to gather from different secret sources,

* too much money is riding on version 2.
* some people got promoted around the time of this upgrade and going back would look bad.
* They're trying to do damage control and at this point they think applying band-aids is cheaper than going back.
* Up until last week classic was still accessible and in sync with version 2
* Management is just interested in site revenues and isn't listening to programmers concerns.
* Staff morale hasn't been very great at GNET.
* They don't use a staging server to do their tests, so they expect the users to report bugs
* They don't have a cm process in place.
* Management wants SI to be sticky, so if most of the sticky is attributed to people reporting bugs then so be it.
* They don't have a QA process, when its time to do a fix, its hot and raw and live.
