It is possible that Jesus (as a purported descendant of David) was the victim of the priests. The Hasmoneans had seized the leadership of Judea in the Maccabean revolt, displacing the eternal kingship of David's seed. This was blasphemy. Jesus's claim to Messiahhood threatened the dominance of the High Priest party. He had to go. The priests were the usurpers of the house of David.
The priests were of the tribe of Levi. It is possible that the tribe of Levi was Egyptian rather than house of Jacob. (Levi mean's "added" or "attached.") Moses may have been an Egyptian monotheistic priest (the name is Egyptian) who talked to the Israelites through Aaron because he didn't know Hebrew. He had no trouble discussing things with Pharoah. He was the first in the bible to learn the name YHVH (Exodus). The conflict between Moses and Israelites was difficult, because YHVH wouldn't speak to anyone except Moses. Moses, of course, had his Levite police murder three thousand Israelites. Moses may not have been permitted to enter the promised land because he was an Egyptian and not a child of the promise -- an Israelite.
