When your friends check with their Ophthalmologists, tell them that the procedure is called PDT (Photo Dynamic Therapy) and the substance that is infused is called Visudyne. If they are seeing a retinal specialist, their doctors should know about this procedure. It is brand new and a lot of doctors are not using it as there is not a final disposition by Medicare as to what they will pay for it.
