Yet.... There are many new companies actively emphasizing and marketing their optical divisions, or businesses. AMCC, BRCM and PMCS are all well known for their comms chips. However, they are all working on/with optical chips (somewhere in the food chain), and there are new optical companies popping up all over the place. STLW just went public as an optical components company, and while it doesn't have the name recognition or gorilla status that JDSU or even SDLI does, it in the optical business. I don't feel threatened at all, but I like to see the sector grow, which will lift all ships smartly managed. Steve
