Hmmmmmm. I'd have to agree with Dragonfly. The AXC deal with Maxtor
seemed to be really a TFI story. At the time there was little talk
of a Maxtor MR drive program. It seems too early for Maxtor to
ammounce a MR + KM drive to me. While the disclaimer about KM
possibly not working in production drives is lawyer talk, it wasn't
too long ago that the MR + KM combo was just speculation. Could it
be that Maxtor was planning a TFI + KM drive program in case the MR
deal with RDRT did not work out? I hope I'm wrong.

Also, the press release states that:

"We are also pleased that this program will be our first MR drive
program for which we will be shipping MR heads as fully assembled
head stack assemblies (HSAs)."

This would seem to indicate that RDRT would have to have a license to
manufacture KM platters already in place right?. Shouldn't we have
heard about it if they did?
