Re: VDSL for Real?- Alcatel Deployment in the UK

Frank- Alcatel apparently has some rollouts of their VDSL solution, called, "3DSL(?)." I'll look it up....well easier said than done. Now that Newbridge has combined with ALA, I can't find it quickly. But I'm pretty sure that is what it's called. Now if I'm not mistaken, there are two actual, here and now, Alcatel VDSL deployments that are beyond the test stage. One is in Canada, the other appears to be in the UK.

Now notice the number of TV channels. It's obviously on the low side as compared to what it would take to compete in the US. But it's hard to say where the limitation has come from. Maybe has nothing to do with the VDSL plant, but matters related to content availability or government regulations? I just don't know.

Anyway, since it popped up, I thought I would post for reference. I need to try to find those other areas where I thought VDSL was being rolled out. I would like to keep track of it's progress. -MikeM(From Florida)

Kingston Vision, a unit of Kingston Communications, will use Alcatel's DSL technology to expand increase interactive digital services to 30,000 new customers on England's east coast, Alcatel said in a statement.
