weakening of institutional sources of authoritative information, and the rise of alternative sources I think many if not most American's are primed to be gullible. The art of taking a little information and adding a lot of hype is a staple of the advertising industry, political campaigns, and religous training in this country. Many people are conditioned to hold conflicting thoughts without attempting to reconcile them in their mind. These internet hoaxes are just the most amusing of this class of thought pattern.. TP .
