HP Launches New HP Pavilion Home PCs

PCs Include Leading Technology and Color Options
NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 27, 2000--Hewlett-Packard Company today announced its new line of back-to-school HP Pavilion home PCs, including the HP Pavilion 9790C PC with the new AMD Athlon 1GHz processor. In addition, select models can be personalized with color options. Beginning in July, color kits will be available for the HP Pavilion PC 8700 and 9700 series models in three colors: cobalt blue, krypton green and xenon purple.

The new HP Pavilion PCs enable consumers to maximize their Internet experience and easily create their own music CDs. All of the new models include one-touch keys to the Internet and a choice of Internet service providers. Consumers can record and play their personalized CDs on most of the new HP Pavilion PCs with the HP CD-Writer Plus CD-RW drive and MusicMatch Jukebox software for MP3 playback and recording.

``These HP Pavilion PCs have built-in technology that people want to use in their homes today, plus the flexibility to be personalized with our new color kits,'' said Sam Szteinbaum, business manager for HP's North America Consumer Computing Organization. ``Whether consumers are making music CDs with the CD-RW drive, navigating the Internet with the one-touch Internet keyboard, or selecting different color options that compliment their homes, the HP Pavilion PC is in tune with what matters most to them.''

The HP Pavilion home PCs announced today include the following configurations:

HP Pavilion 9790C -- with an AMD Athlon 1GHz processor, 128MB SDRAM, 60GB Ultra DMA hard-disk drive, HP CD-RW drive, 12x max. DVD drive, 10/100 Base-T networking card, 1.5 Mbps Digital Lucent WildWire DSL modem, 32MB Nvidia TNT2 Pro AGP card, HP one-touch Internet USB keyboard, USB scroller mouse and a cobalt blue chassis is expected to sell for an estimated U.S. street price of $2,399.(1)
HP Pavilion 9780C PC -- with an AMD Athlon 900MHz processor, 128MB SDRAM, 60GB Ultra DMA hard-disk drive, HP CD-RW drive, 12x max. DVD drive, 10/100 Base-T networking card, 1.5 Mbps Digital Lucent WildWire DSL modem, 32MB Nvidia TNT2 Pro AGP card, HP one-touch Internet USB keyboard, USB scroller mouse and a cobalt blue chassis is expected to sell for an estimated U.S. street price of $1,849.(1)
HP Pavilion 8770C -- with an AMD Athlon 850MHz processor, 128MB SDRAM, 45GB Ultra DMA hard-disk drive, HP CD-RW drive, 2x max. HP Pavilion 8760C -- with an Intel® Pentium® III 733MHz processor, 128MB SDRAM, 40GB Ultra DMA hard-disk drive, HP CD-RW drive, 8x max. DVD drive, 10/100 Base-T networking card and HP one-touch Internet keyboard is expected to sell for an estimated U.S. street price of $1,399.(1)
HP Pavilion 8750C -- with an Intel Pentium III 667MHz processor, 64MB SDRAM, 30GB Ultra DMA hard-disk drive, HP CD-RW drive, 48x max. CD-ROM drive, 10/100 Base-T networking card and HP one-touch Internet keyboard is expected to sell for an estimated U.S. street price of $1,049.(1)
HP Pavilion 6740C -- with an Intel Celeron(TM) 667MHz processor , 64MB SDRAM, 15GB Ultra DMA hard-disk drive, HP CD-RW drive, 10/100 Base-T networking card and HP's one-touch multimedia keyboard is expected to sell for an estimated U.S. street price of $749 after $50 rebate.(1)
HP Pavilion 6730 -- with an Intel Celeron 600MHz processor, 64MB SDRAM, 10.2GB Ultra DMA hard-disk drive, 48x max. CD-ROM drive, V.90 56K modem and HP's one-touch multimedia keyboard is expected to sell for an estimated U.S. street price of $549 after $50 rebate.(1)
