Your assumption is inherently correct but a little competition never hurt anyone. Competition prevents you from getting complacent and spurs you on to new horizons. Look at what happened to IBM and CRUS because of complacency. IBM is now back on track, though. Also, don't fret. Other than a few lawsuits<gg>, INTC does not seem to be sufferring too much with its competition<gg>.

Seriously, you could consider this to be problematic in the future but a great deal of thing would have to happen for it to adversely affect ETEC. I think ETEC is locked into its existing customer niche market, mask/reticle tool making. The application we are talking about, if it takes off, will be down the road. Not only that but there will be more than enough room for 3 or 4 more players. None of them could handle the market alone. Look at the stepper business as it exists today. Not even mighty Canon or Nikon could serve the entire market need. Competition is healthy and I'll bet ETEC will have a competitive product offering when the time comes. If anything, new expanded opportunities will be the end result for ETEC.
