First since my high school and college fraternity days, I had promised myself that I would never participate in an organization that encourages exclusivity.

I can sympathize with this philosophy in general, but aren't you forgetting that SI is exclusive by nature? I'm sure that neither you nor anyone else here would want to rely on the yahoo thread.

I think this approach is better than the "I'm going to kick *** off of SI" flame wars we had a few weeks ago.
