Dan, I just looked up NOK, its 3.8% gain today comes out to about 75% of AMD's total market cap, so I guess they could do it. I was browsing on JC's site and noticed his "whisper" link and found the NOK rumor quite by accident. I personally don't consider the rumor to be credible at this time, it's probably of Yahoo quality. The fact that AMD has world leadership with its flash technology does imply some rationalization to this rumor. Also I personally hope that AMD is not acquired by anyone. This stock seems to grow on me as AMD struggles against a much larger competitor, I guess I root for the underdog. AMD's fine products, engineering, and manufacturing have put it in an excellent position at an excellent time in the world marketplace. I've always thought Dresden is the key.
